Whether it’s a guilty pleasure or a full-on belief, almost everyone is fascinated with how much of our being is determined by the stars. For the cannaseur, the idea of finding your 4/20 zodiac might be equally as intriguing, so we have gone out and found which strains best match the 12 zodiac signs.
Aries (March 21 – April 19)
The first fire sign, and by no coincidence the first zodiac sign, Aries love being first in everything they do. This competitive drive is usually paired with confidence, ambition, and determination. These traits make Aries one of the most active of the zodiac signs, leading them to jump into action without a second thought.
Strain: Tangie (found in Misitifi’s Over the Rainbow) is a strain that consistently dominates the competition in award shows, making it the obvious Aries strain. Originating from Amsterdam, Tangie is a sativa dominant hybrid that boasts a THC level that can reach up to 22% — meaning you’ll want Aries level confidence when consuming this strain.
Taurus (April 20 – May 20)
Reliable, patient, and experts in the art of sitting back and relaxing, Taurus is truly the master of selfcare. They are also the first Earth sign, aiding to their grounded nature and knack for being stable and dependable people in your life.
Strain: OG Kush is as reliable as they come, and therefore makes the perfect Taurus strain. Not only that, but it’s highly relaxing and has a woody and earthy taste and aroma that’s fitting for an earth sign.
Gemini (May 21 – June 20)
While some think Gemini can be a bit two-faced, the reality is that they just have too much going on in their heads. They basically need to be two people to get all of their ideas under control! Gemini are known for their curiosity, adaptability, and yes, being a bit erratic (in an endearing way).
Strain: Super Silver Haze (found in Misitifi’s Over the Rainbow) is an energetic and long-lasting high befitting the Gemini sign. The multi-time prize winner at various Cannabis Cups, Super Silver Haze will have you up and moving, but much like a Gemini, this energizing strain does not always bring focus.
Cancer (June 21 – July 22)
Imaginative, emotional, and deeply empathetic, Cancer follows the heart. That being said, much like the crab that represents it, Cancer can be known for having a hard shell when it comes to trusting and building relationships with people. Once you get past that shell, however, Cancers are deeply loyal and form strong bonds.
Strain: Girl Scout Cookies (GSC) gets the nod for the Cancer zodiac due to its ability to fully encapsulate the body (similar to a shell). Famous for its dessert-like aroma and flavor, GSC is an indica-dominant hybrid strain that features up to 19% THC levels, meaning it will get your imagination going, but probably keep you planted firmly on the couch.
Leo (July 23 – August 22)
Represented by the lion, Leos are passionate, loyal, and natural-born leaders. Because they are the “King/Queen of the jungle” they are often known for their confidence and ability to unite groups. Leos are the second zodiac belonging to the fire element and have a strength and warmth that draw people in.
Strain: Hell Fire OG (found in Mistifi’s Phantom and Oracle pens) is the perfect pair for the Leo sign, not only because of the fire element, but also because of the sheer power Hell Fire OG brings. With anywhere between 20% and 29% THC levels, this strain is a worthy pairing for the King/Queen zodiac, and as such should be approached by those who have the cannabis consumption confidence of a Leo.
Virgo (August 23 – September 22)
Virgos make their keep by always paying attention to the details. Known for their analytical thinking, fantastic work ethic, and logical approach, Virgos are the ultimate problem solvers. Always organized, they never lose sight of their goals, but can occasionally get caught up in the details that others might not even notice.
Strain: Mother’s Helper is a well-balanced strain that pairs well with the Virgo desire to solve problems. A little bit can go a long way, but when consumed in the right amount this strain provides the focus and motivation required for nailing down even the most minute of details.
Libra (September 23 – October 22)
In constant search of balance, Libras are defined by their diplomatic, peaceful, and fair nature. Because of this, they often can shy away from conflict, and try not to ruffle any feathers. Much like the other air signs, Libras have a strong intellect, lending to their desire to partake in stimulating conversation and thought.
Strain: Dancehall is one of the best strains when it comes to balance and is a 1:1 THC/CBD strain. While it’s a slightly Sativa-dominant hybrid, it sits at about a 7% THC level to 8% CBD level. Not only does the balanced nature match with the Libra sign, but it’s also a social strain that will lend itself to having positive and engaging social interactions with those around you.
Scorpio (October 23 – November 21)
Brave, determined, and assertive, Scorpios have a bit of a reputation for being mysterious and elusive. Because Scorpios love truth and facts, they can at times be slightly distrustful, but once a connection has been made, they make dependable friends.
Strain: Supermax OG (found in Misitifi’s Houdini), embodies the Scorpio zodiac in that it’s an assertive strain that also has some mysteries to its genetic background. Generally consisting of around 23% THC levels this strain hits hard and fast, bringing about the perfect combination of happiness and relaxation.
Sagittarius (November 22 – December 21)
The adventurers of the zodiac, Sagittariuses are curious, energetic, and always ready for change. Much like the other fire signs, they are pure in heart and have no hesitation when it comes to giving the honest truth (at times with little filter).
Strain: Green Crack might be a slightly controversial name for this strain, but its effects match the energy and liveliness of the Sagittarius zodiac sign. A sativa-dominant strain, Green Crack provides a stimulating high that will fuel all the adventures and interactions the day may hold.
Capricorn (December 22 – January 19)
The zodiac masters of time, Capricorns understand time and responsibility in a way that make them disciplined, independent, and always in control. Practical and always grounded (no surprise as the final earth zodiac), Capricorn are highly focused and able to make the most of any situation.
Strain: Jack Herer is a highly accomplished strain with an award-winning pedigree. Much like the Capricorn, this strain is relaxing, but maintains an attentive and alert high. While this sativa-dominant strain offers plenty of stimulation, it does not limit the lucid control of one’s actions, making it the perfect Capricorn strain.
Aquarius (January 20 – February 18)
The final air sign, Aquariuses are highly intellectual and use that ability in their never-ending humanitarian fight. They are progressive, eccentric, and greatly value freedom. Because Aquarius tend to be idealistic, they have a rare ability to interact with others without prejudices, aiding in their connection with others and their ability to pursue a variety of causes.
Strain: White Buffalo matches the Aquarius zodiac both as a strain and as a sacred symbol. The white buffalo of Native American lore is a symbol of hope, matching the idealistic nature of Aquarius. As a strain, White Buffalo stimulates the brain, aiding the intellectual nature of the Aquarius sign.
Pisces (February 19 – March 20)
Highly intuitive, Pisces make the most of being the last of the zodiac signs. Said to have learned the lessons of the other signs, Pisces are compassionate, gentle, and wise. Because of this, Pisces are able to form strong emotional relationships and have an incredible ability to forgive.
Strain: Blue Dream is a strain that manages to please novices and experts in its well-balanced sativa effect. Much like Pisces, Blue Dream is known for being a gentle strain that does not overwhelm, despite its THC levels (anywhere around 17% to 24% on average).
Now that you know your cannabis Zodiac strain, go ahead and see if its effects match your traits. After all, it’s written in the stars.
