Many competitor cannabis oils have at least one type of additive or flavoring present in their oils due to their more basic extraction processes. ‘Live Resin’ extraction uses ‘fresh frozen’ cannabis. This frozen plant material is the ‘whole flower’ which sounds good but includes trim as well as buds. What is trim? Trim is whatever is leftover from production, usually refers to cannabis which has had its leaves removed. Weed trimmings lack the potency of buds, yet many vape brands claim high quality while using trim in their vape products. Smoking trim can result in a harsh flavor, it can irritate the throat, and cause headaches, so many brands use additives to mask the bitterness and add artificial “flavor” back into their oils. No. Mistifi™ does not use the whole plant because that would include trim, which we do not use. Mistifi™ uses 100% uncut cannabis flower. We use premium smokeable flower to ensure the purest, natural, flower vaping experience.

Trim refers to cannabis which has had its leaves removed or the post-harvest process of removing extraneous plant matter from the cannabis flower. Proper trimming techniques are associated with higher quality and a more aesthetically pleasing final product. Smoking trim is generally avoided as it is harsh, can irritate the throat and lungs, and cause headaches. In addition, weed trimmings lack the potency of buds. Many vape brands claim higher quality extra virgin cannabis oil, while using trim in their vape products. Mistifi™ is 100% trim-free and never uses any trim for our pure, flower vaping experience products.
Other distillation and extraction processes produce cannabis oils that are thick and viscous. They tend to have a very difficult flow and are challenging to get into a vape device without gumming up. In these cases, competitors use a diluent to “cut it” with propylene glycol, vegetable glycerine (these are 2 of the most common agents to cut the oil). When they cut the oil, it becomes more soluble, flows better, and is easier to manage. The downside is that adding a chemical to the oil introduces an impurity, that is not natural or present in the original flower. Mistifi™ is 100% UNCUT. When brands use a process like distillation or any other forms of carbon dioxide, butane extraction they are essentially breaking up the naturally present ratios of the cannabis flower’s terpenes, terpenoids, and cannabinoids. That means you are not getting a true, natural and pure flower experience when you vape but rather one that is broken down and then artificially re-built. Most extraction processes that use distillation and high heats tend to burn off important cannabinoids and terpenes found in the native flower.
